Hi ...I have been following this train of thought and wondered when someone
would acknowledge that the stuff (aspertame) tastes lousy .
Agree on the MSG also.

Ode...if you have a "health food store" near you ...chances are you can find
the "cup a soup" without any additives.
They also sell "boxes" of broth. Sounds weird doesn't it? Broth in boxes?
But it is very good.
The broth is listed as Natural. States on the container...Contains no
msg...fat...glutens..and less sodium (about 1/2 of reg.broth)
INGREDIENTS; Chicken (also comes in Beef and Vegatable) stock, Natural
Flavor?..salt..Vegatable Stocks (carrot, onion, celery)..Corn Syrup:((don't
know why that is necessary)...Bay Leaf, Thyme, Peppercorn.

You can buy larger containers... or... the 8 oz size.

They make a wonderful cooking tool...excellent for bases of soups...or to add
to Rice for Pilaf...etc.
The brand I buy is called KITCHEN BASICS.
Don't know if you have stores by the name of PRICE CHOPPER where you live but
they have an organic section and carry these broths.

As I read these posts I think I can understand why Jack clings to his comfort
drink.
It took years before my daugter and my grandchildren learned the dangers of
these drinks and only when they got quite ill ...started weeding out un natural
foods...and they feel so much better now.

Perhaps Jack will come to that place one day and remember all the people here
who tried to get him to abandon that poison and he will find a drink that works
for him.
My personal favorite is Perrier.
But nothing wrong with just plain old water:)

Good luck to you both..Jack...on finding out the truth about foods that have
been "changed" to suit the publics ideas of simply delicious:) and to you Ode
on your soup making.

I don't use aspertame simply because it tastes like crap but I do like
cup-o-noodles type soups..but can't find any that doesn't have the similar
compound MSG.
To me, That stuff is like doing bad speed.
..looking into making my own ..er..soups, not bad speed. [with home made
broth too]

Jack, I can't help but come in here to support Marshall. By all means, go
and have a look around at the aspartamegroup at Yahoo.
