Actually Ethylene glycol is the most common antifreeze. It is extremely toxic, and if pets drink it will be killed.
Propolyne Glycol is the "Environmentally Safe" antifreeze. It cost a little more but if pets drink it they will likely get sick, but not die. It is still toxic, but much less so than the standard antifreeze. http://physchem.ox.ac.uk/MSDS/ET/ethylene_glycol.html http://physchem.ox.ac.uk/MSDS/PO/poly(propylene_glycol).html Marshall mamapug wrote: > Propylene glycol is in soda pop, too, like Squirt. > It is sweet, that is why pets drink it, and then die... > Marshalee > > > > ...with all the sweeteners, savoury tasty additions, > > > colourings and whatever else they put in foods...---Hanneke > > Yep, gave up on a favorite treat, chicken-pot-pie, after finally > > noticing "propylene glycol" in the ingredients list.
