Julie,
I work in a project in South Asia, in which we are producing silver
satured, pottery water purifiers, for introduction into vulnerable
communities. These purifiers are proving to be remarkably effective at
removing virtually all e coli/ fecal coliforms, and the purifier candles
we are using function on the same principle as the "Mazariegos"filter or
"filtron." The difference between the filtron and our pottery purifier
is primarily in size, the former a seven liter element, resembling a
flower pot. By contrast the latter, ours, is a small candle that can be
inset into a variety of containers, of the type which are appropriate to
the two tiered approach.

For more information please check our link, below. And please feel free
with any additional questions. Part of our aim is to help people who
want to get involved with silver ceramic filters, regardless of whether
or not these are 'ours.'

Greetings all,
I am a water treatment specialist working in Zambia, I am interested
in getting in touch with any one who has experience in the
"Mazariegos"filter or "filtron". I have few working filter elements and
am interested in how to generate approx. 100PPM CS, a friend is
generating something around 20ppm-will this work? What do you folks
advise? I am new to the list-Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,
Brian
