The total pressure makes no difference. If it did, the total amount of air on the planet would crush you instantly. Pounds per square inch is what counts. If you get over pressured, you'll know it...and open your mouth. Or the mask will blow off or leak to compensate unless you have it strapped on and sealed up like a leech on your face.
