i dont have experience with bites- never thought of it- but i have experience with different models of the violet ray [old vs current (no pun)] but they all put out over 10 kv i believe- quite low current but depending on adjustment and other things, they can get your attention.
i would not hesitate to try it- almost wanta go get a bite to try it! "almost" also, what about a laser pointer???
