Jack, Properly made CS is not light sensitive. As I mentioned to Debbie, we have CS stored in clear plastic containers which is years old that is continually exposed to light and is not degrading.
Perhaps you're making it with salt and making silver chloride. It may be light sensitive but I wouldn't know because I've never used salt in the process. Others on the list may have more definitive data on light sensitive characteristics of silver chloride. Where did you get this idea? The silver particles do not have a charge to leak off and the ions are dissolved in the water.
