Hello Trem, Alex and others. The only details I have are the ones in book by Mr Jefferson. He attributes the report of the outbreak to a 1999 newsletter published by the Association For The Prudent Use Of Antibiotics (APUA.) I think it is significant that the resistance was to Ag+, not to CS. Trem's reference to MPS is apropos. And, I wonder what the anion was?
Alex's remarks about the possibility of a developing a strain with resistance to silver is not unheardof. I, for one, would not dismiss the probity of a fall-back option to another elemental metal as long as it is easily colloidalized and was safely grandfathered.
