Hello Trem, Alex and others.

The only details I have are the ones
in book by Mr Jefferson. He attributes
the report of the outbreak to a 1999
newsletter published by the
Association For The Prudent Use Of
Antibiotics (APUA.) I think it is
significant that the resistance was
to Ag+, not to CS. Trem's reference to
MPS is apropos. And, I wonder what
the anion was?

Alex's remarks about the possibility of
a developing a strain with resistance to
silver is not unheardof. I, for one, would
not dismiss the probity of a fall-back
option to another elemental metal as
long as it is easily colloidalized and was
safely grandfathered. The generating
equipment may be the same. It's better
to be safe than sorry.

Best regards,

Matthew
