Evening Richard,

You make some good points.

 >>In US, as long as you label CS as being a "Mineral Supplement" without
>stating that it can be used FOR any particular ailment

I had a friend years ago who was a writer, a playwright, a land broker,
and a contractor.
At one time, he owned the largest ready mix concrete in a large city.

He became interested in study and research of a controversial
chemical. He spent years researching his cause.

He stated that a drug or chemical is classified according "to its
intended use".

For example, under the sink and in the farm supply stores are chemicals
that are very deadly. Yet you can buy them freely.

He was so hell-bent in confronting the FDA on his mind set, he ran an ad
in all the large Mississippi newspapers offering to sell his product by
mail order.

Then he went home to Texas to wait for the action.

Sure enough, the FDA man knocked on his door one day.

He said, "come with me to the post office to pick up my orders".

The FDA rep went with him, they picked up orders, then went back to his
office to open the orders.

The FDA guy left and later charges were filed.

The charges were filed against the product, not against the
man. They wanted a court case of consequence, and expected my friend to
bow out. Not him.

Most lawyers won't touch a case against the FDA. He found only
one nearby that would take the case.

      He won the case.

During a 20 year period he served as expert witness on a few cases.
Other he declined, because he said,

"Both sides are lying and neither want the truth".

This issue was so controversial, he had letters from world famous
people that asked for their letters never be made public until after their
death.

I could tell you more, but I don't want to stir up a hornets nest.

Darn, I wrote all that just to ask one question. Was he right about
the classification according to intended use?

       Wayne
