Richard and Jean,
The chambered stomach herbivores are not nearly as sensitive to CS are
hindgut fermenters, is my understanding. Rabbits are one species where
oral CS must be used in tiny doses with very careful monitoring, to be
safe, because they are so dependent on their gut bacteria. That said,
two of my pet houserabbits get 1/2 tsp of 10ppm CS in their 14 oz water
bowl every day, and have gotten approximately this amount for over a
year with no problems at all. I would be cautious about going much over
this orally.
I do use a mist of CS daily for one bunny with a scarred shut tear
duct, to keep his eye free from problems or infections. Another bunny
has been nebulized daily for up to a couple of months at a time with a
mix of CS/MSM. Recently he has been nebulized for a couple weeks or more
with a mix of 1 oz CS-1tsp MSM-2 drops DMSO, and I've also used this mix
as ear drops for him for a couple weeks or more. Topical use, ear drops,
nebulizing all seem to be perfectly problem free, in my experience, but
I still am extremely cautious with oral dosing, because dysbiosis can
kill a rabbit in hours. Better safe than sorry.

Hope you find something helpful there.
I believe you've gotten misinformation on CS in milk or water killing good
bacteria--It's good for humans and most pets that I know thrive on CS and
prefer to drink it over NO CS in.

Hi Richard,
I don't put CS in their drinking water or milk bottles. I understood the CS
will kill all the bacteria in the gut so unless I thought there was an
imbalance on the side of bad, I wouldn't do this. I see no harm in a little
CS and since I come from a long line of inventors and experimenters, I like
to test small things that has no side effects. Can't say this about many
things that help your health.

Thanks for sharing, Jean,
and congratulations on your success so far. Do you regularly put CS in
their
drinking water--good idea.
