See http://www.canismajor.com/dog/mange1.html There are different kinds of mange. All types are caused by various microscopic mites. This suggests "parasite" to me. Normally, CS cannot kill multi-celled organisms. However, this mite is microscopic. Perhaps it's small enough that the CS could kill it. I'd love to hear from some experienced dog people.
