I grew up using silver ... when my daughter married I gave it to her ... and she uses it happily. It is German and marked .90 silver. I do not know what other ingredients there are in this mix ... the knives have to have steel blades ... seeing how soft silver is. I have enjoyed using it and my daughter does now ... with no ill effects. go to it, Garnet, you will enjoy the feel of real silver in your hands! Magenor.
