Itching skin lesions, fungal infections and edema over the shoulders that makes the skin looked rippled. Mane itching and tail itching can be symptoms. Lesions erupt where the filariads congregate in sub-dermal locations during the migration. Common sitess are the withers, flank, shoulders, sternum, belly, sheath and chest.
Many are also allergic to the bite of the Culucoides midge that spreads the neck thread worm. This allergy is called Sweet Itch or Queensland Itch by some.
