  Hi Robb,

  Yes, I  normally try to avoid quackwatch but ran out of  time. These
  articles seemed  well-written, made very good points, and  seemed to
  be free of the deliberate obfuscation found in the CS articles.

  And thanks  for  your  description of the  poor  reliability  of the
  syncrometer. From the schematic, it appeared to be one of  the worst
  oscillators I've  ever  seen.  The   frequency  would  drift  as the
  transistor warmed  up  and the battery voltage  changed.  This would
  require changing the pressure on the plate to get the frequency back
  where it  was. There is no way to make an accurate test with  such a
