Oh, nonsense. Jump back a few decades and look at what happened. Docs have just as many conficting beliefs as anyone and more restrictions on their actions than anyone, all of which are "intended" to protect you... and the Docs from malpractice suits which are also "intended" to protect you. It's the publics demand for protection that made the situation what it is, not evil intentions of Doctors, who, incidently, are quitting left and right because they CAN'T do what they think best or even 'tell' you what they think is best.
I've seen it happen first hand after offering CS to a dentist who had seen with his own eyes what CS can do for dental health. He was absolutely convinced. He wanted to do something with it but couldn't even mention it to patients because it wasn't "approved" and doing anything with it would void his insurance. [The entire approval process is designed to protect the public..poorly designed maybe and grown so unweildy as to be counterproductive, but that IS it's orignal purpose.] Pharm companies now...that's another story. But like the senate committees looking into that situation said, You can hardly blame them for taking advantage of a bad system that we set up. [In the name of protecting the public] They [senators] have a pretty good handle on what's wrong, they just don't know how to, or have the power to set it right. It's one of those sacred cow boats that's been patched up so much that it can't float, yet grown so big that no one can stop it from crushing the dock it's tied to. We have institutionalized our own responsibilities away from our power to use them. Institutions unavoidably develop a self preservation identity of their own. Our best bet is to educate ourselves, take what good the system has to offer and go 'around' the rest of it. ie: Be responsible for ourselves, make our own decisions and take the results as 'our problem' like we should have from the start. Blaming people for not knowing the same things we don't know and sueing them because they didn't, is how all this sludge, that is now drowning us, started to build up. Sooner or later the whole system will crash under it's own weight and we'll hear from yet another bunch of complainers rueing the day they became dependant by default. "Heeelp me Heeelp me!..no, not like that!" Heck fire, if you know how..do it. If you don't, learn how. Do that and nothing else matters. Do neither and you gets what you gets. ode At 12:01 AM 8/21/2004 -0500, you wrote: >You smart people telling us folks that don't know anything something?
