In Japan experts can judge the gender of an embryonic fertilized egg by
using a little pendulum.
I kid you not.

Say, folks,
Speaking of chickens an' things:
I have a philosophical problem though - while I won't kill and eat any
sort of animal, I recently learned that REAL chickens in the wild
might only lay 10 eggs per year ...... I do steal the eggs though and
eat them.
Under non-forced conditions, I wonder how many eggs a "real" chicken
would lay?
If you add a Rooster, how many eggs would be fertilised?
Traditional Jews won't eat fertilised eggs, a belief from thousands of
years before Judaism - in which dietary advice was pretty simple
compared to today:
1. Don't eat anything developed enough to have eyes.
2. Especially, don't eat people
3. Don't eat anything that looks or smells funny.
4. Don't deny the animals their rights to a natural life cycle,
especially if you share with them ( milk, eggs) or you will get sick
from their unhappiness.
Big Q: How do you tell a fertilised egg without cracking it??
Himagain - looking at having to learn a whole new ballgame..........
sigh
Please feel free to respond on the OT list......... :-)
