Gaylord Chemical is the major DMSO refiner in the nation to my
understanding. I am curious, if anyone has looked into prices with them on
bulk? I wonder what a 55 gallon drum of Pharma Grade is going for from them?
I find it interesting that at their site, they write this: "A little known
fact is that an impurity, BMTM (bis-(methylthio)methane) is responsible for
most of the odor associated with inferior qualities of DMSO. Gaylord
Chemical has developed engineering processes that remove this and all other
odor causing trace impurities from USP grade DMSO." This is the first I have
read of this! I would think this would open DMSO up for more legitimate lab
trials, if the subjects could not detect the presence of DMSO easily.
