Jim,

Using an atomizer, spray 25 ppm or higher ionic silver directly into the
ears 4 or 5 times a day until the infection is under control, then once a
day or less to prevent bacteria/yeast colonies from thriving. In the 100s
of floppy eared dogs we have worked with applying 25 ppm ionic CS by itself
or along with antibiotics, so far we have been able to bring under control
and eradicate the infections/infestations in every case. Through our
experiences we found that concentrations of 25 ppm or higher had a much
greater impact on the infections/yeast infestations than lower
concentrations like 10 ppm. At times we observed no effect with 10 ppm then
switching to 25 ppm were able to get the infection under control.

Have never tried adding DMSO yet in these cases. The infections in ears are
not internal but on the surface of the inner ear so not sure if the DMSO
would have a great effect, it certainly wouldn't make the dog smell very
nice :).

Key thing is initially, keep ionic CS in contact with the infected area
almost constantly for the first few days, you should start seeing a
significant difference in the appearance of the inner ear and the odor
coming from the ear. If not try with antibiotics and you should have good
results. Good luck!!

a lab dog has come down with an ear infection, wetness inside, shaking
ears a lot. gave the guy some CS to wash the ears down. seemed to help
for a while but not much help lately. would 10% dmso help? tried to get
help out of the archives, but didn't come up with much. any help
appreciated.
