I have used H2O2 to clear ear infections in cats, but it does develop a
lot of heat and when the problem is yeast it introduces a lot of extra
moisture. Low ppm CS would too and in this instance I would run a higher
ppm batch just for treating ear stuff, more around 20-25 ppm so less
could be used. I also would use it with DMSO precisely because DMSO is
dehydrating and would help dry the ear. Yeast is fungus and is slow
growing so once a day for

You want the ear as dry as possible hence the alcohol based cleaners.
Otomax, which the vet gave us for a yeast ear infection in one of our
Aussies (who swims in the river), has an antibiotic, Gentamicin, a
steroid, Betamethasone and a topical anti-fungal Clotrimazole.

I used oral CS for this dog and it was not enough. I did put 10 ppm CS
in her ears and it did not work, probably made them too wet or was not
strong enough. I did not know about DMSO at the time. The cleaning and
treatment with Otomax knocked it back pretty quick. I don't like the
steroid and probably did not need the antibiotic, but she needed help as
the infection was advanced and they can lose hearing and develop scar
tissue.
