My thinking on not mixing DMSO and H2O2 is not that they will cause any kind of harm but that DMSO is a powerful anti-oxidant and H2O2 is an oxidizing agent. It appears to me that they may just cancel each other out. I have not heard anyone else address this issue except for the suggestion that when taking oral peroxide some people do take an anti-oxidant such as superoxide dismutase to prevent untoward oxidation reactions. However if it is the contribution of a molecule of oxygen that is the beneficial action of peroxide then it does not make a whole lot of sense, unless they anti-oxidant is taken later, after the peroxide has a chance to do some good?
Just thoughts here, no proof. If you mix the two and it seems to work then go for it. I generally choose DMSO over peroxide myself, but part of that is due to the fact that the DMSO is easier to handle and obtain. Buying and diluting a pure grade of H2O2 can be a bother and takes some care in handling 35% H2O2. I don't want to ingest the brown bottle drug store 3% peroxide due to the stabilizers in this particular preparation. I can forward more info on this stabilizer from a supplier's web site. I will go look for it now. Garnet On Fri, 2004-10-08 at 09:38, sol wrote: > I hope she will answer my question then.
