Corn is a VERY common food allergy. Dairy, corn and chicken are the three most common food allergies.
I completely agree on the mucous providing a breeding ground. Keeping your sinuses cleared of mucous goes a long way in preventing secondary infections. I keep peppermint oil on my nightstand. If I wake with stuffy sinuses I put a bit on my nose, temples and in my ears, down in the canal. The relief is wonderful, mucous drains and I can go back to sleep with little disturbance. I don't even have to turn on the light. I have started buying the peppermint oil in 4 oz bottles as we use it for sore muscles, hand and foot massages, ahhhhhhh!
