Hi nancymike, some countries like britain have what they called de-ionized water and it is about as pure as distilled according to one guy that tested his carfully. so if you are in another country asd you have that then it is good to use. Best trick is to but a Hanna TDS meter they can be purchasehd for less than 20 dollars and you can test you water purity with it. distilled usually comes out at 1 ppm on the meter. then you can also us it to test you CS to see how strong it is. I have made mine up to 55 ppm with 30 volts and two wires and a bubble stone. Take care, V
