The Silverpupy site has a page of reviews of other generators. Ken is
very fair, and gives his opinion honestly. No bashing, in fact, he says
the Colloid Master is a good generator, and so is the SG-6 from
Silvergen. He does say clearly why he builds his silverpuppy as he does,
however, instead of making his generator more like a Colloid Master.
For those making a decision, it is well to read all the sites thoroughly
before purchasing.
Regarding price differences, between the two models of Colloid Master
and the Silverpuppy models the difference is insignificant. $6.00
between the 777AC and the Silverpuppy thermal stir (Silverpuppy prices
include shipping, the Wishgranted prices do not) and between the 777
Universal and the Silverpuppy magnetic stir unit the 777 Universal
actually costs more. The Silvergen SG-6 is a bit more expensive, but is
also a very good buy, imho.
So, I was wrong in significant details about the Colloid Master
generator(s), and apologize for my mistakes, but I still prefer the
Silverpuppy and the SG-6, and indeed those are the ones I purchased for
myself, and I'm very pleased with both. I plan to purchase the magnetic
stir base for my older thermal stir puppy.
For me, I truly love that I don't have to attach alligator clips to the
electrodes nor have the wires from the clips to the generator. My
preference is for the electrodes to be attached to the generator which
sits on top of the brew container. And with my severely limited space a
generator that sits atop the brew container is an added bonus, and
certainly is still my own personal preference. MIght not be of any
significance for anyone else.

Master does not have *real* automatic shut off, but it does. Just
