I believe the more expensive model offers a universal power supply
containing at a minimum 240 volt AC and possibly 12 volt DC capability, but
if you don't intend to make CS in Europe, or in your car, you don't need to
spend the extra money, IMHO. regards, Al....

I must have mis-read the information at their site, sorry about that. Upon
re-reading it does sound like "true" auto shut off and not a timer. In fact
they state it is NOT a timer.
What does puzzle me, is I cannot really determine the difference between
the two models shown the 777 Universal and the 777 AC. I am not able to
tell what the difference in power supply actually means to the process,
nor why it affects the price by $40. I do see that the 777AC has a switch
that has the setting "fast" and "standard" as well as a "test light" which
I don't see on the 777 Universal.
If no one who uses a Colloid Master knows what the difference is, I can
contact the mfr, and ask them. But I thought I'd ask for opinions here
first.

Hi Sol. I'm not sure why you phrased this as though the Colloid Master
does not have *real* automatic shut off, but it does. Just wanted to
clarify that. MA (who is not affiliated in any way with the
manufacturers of this unit -- just a very satisfied customer)
