Debbie:

The Cipro probably would work very well. Make sure if you do go to the
doctor to get antibiotics he does a culture and sensitivity, so that if the
organism is immune to the Cipro, he will find out in four days which antibiotic
would
work.

Here is a possible plan for your situation:

Have a culture and sensitivity done by a doctor, immediately. Get a
prescription for Cipro, but do not start taking it until the sensitivity test
shows
that it will be effective. Meanwhile, start taking d-mannose (a simple sugar
that even diabetics can safely take). You can get d-mannose in many health
food/nutrition stores. It is effective against the most prevalent organism
causing cystitis--E-coli. In about 85% of cystitis cases this is the organism
causing cystitis. At any rate, it won't hurt you to try it. It works by
preventing the E-coli from sticking to the mucous membranes of the bladder, and
so they
are simply washed out. The dose to take is 1 tsp. every two to three hours
in a glass of water while awake. If it will work, the symptoms will be much
better in 24 hours. If the d-mannose works, continue taking it for a total of
two weeks, regardless of the lack of symptoms. If the mannose doesn't work,
and the CS doesn't work, by then you will know which anitbiotic should be
effective.

D-mannose can be purchased from the Tahoma Clinic Dispensary--1-888-893-6878,
www.tahoma-clinic.com. It is cheaper by far than from the health food store.
This place also sells a very useful booklet called D-Mannose & Bladder
Infection, by Jonathan Wright, M.D.

Best wishes for a quick recovery,

Jill
