In normal operation, if the green light was coming on after only 2-5 minutes, the water was NOT very good quality. Acceptable perhaps, as the green light did not come on immediately, however certainly not good, in my opinion.

You didn't say what size batch you are making, but what happens with my SG-6 and a quart batch, with very pure distilled water (.4uS or less) and no previous CS added is that it takes from 50min to over an hour for the green light to come on. Unless your green light has not come on after an hour and 15 min or a bit more, and if you are making a quart batch, there is nothing wrong---you just have very, very pure distilled water.

Haven't made any batches of CS since summer started and am having problems and need some advice. When I made previous batches, the green light came on after about 2-5 minutes, and the batch was ready after about 20 minutes. This what is happening now is the green light isn't coming on at all even after 30 or 40 minutes. Am using Walgreens distilled water. Is it the water? Is it my SG6 unit? When not using the device it's stored in a cabinet to keep dust off of it.
