If I remember right, the green light is a water conductivity monitor. If the water is good, it should not come on immediately, but the stirring should start. Then as conductivity increases with the silver ionic content, it will come on in about 5 minutes. If the light comes on immediately it means that the water is no good and should not be used. I am sure there are different suppliers in different parts of the country, but around here the Walgreens distilled water is unusable.
