Lee Ann, I know that you don't want to put your son on the antibiotics, but if your doctor insists, then do that incombination with the CS, oil of oregano, or GSE. At Worst, your son should only get over the problem even faster than with antibiotics alone, and he could get off the antibiotics in a few days if things improve.
Otherwise, get some oil of oregano, GSE, and CS (w/gatorade, I think i is 2 part Gatorade and 1 part CS), and start administering. Start the oregano and GSE in small doses first to check for allergic reaction, and increase daily. GSE is only about $10, and oil of oregano (make sure it says "vulgare" type oregano on the ingredient) is only about $15-20. For GSE, it's bitter, so I would start with 5 drops in orange juice in the morning. If he's ok by lunchtime, increase to 10 drops in juice at lunchtime, and by dinnertime try 15 drops in juice. That's about the most you can put in juice before it gets too nasty tasting. At this point, to increase the dosage, you should pour the liquid into empty capsules. A "AA" size capsule can hold about 35 drops or so, BUT just do the first capsule he takes at about 25 drops. Increase to 1 capsule full, and at this point, you can decide if you think he can take more. since he is 7 years old, I would think a full capsule is a lot, but GSE seems relatively harmless except for possible allergic reaction, which you want to avoid when he's having problems breathing. I have taken up to 3 capsules a day with no problem. My wife up to 2 a day. see what your son can tolerate, increasing by 10 drops each time. He is only 7 so I really don't know what the known limit is for someone his age and weight. As far a the oil of oregano, I can't speak to that. So far, my wife has used 3 capsules 3 times a day with no problems. She may be able to handle more but we have not tried. I would think this, along with nebulized CS and oral CS w/ Gatoraide, should give good results. -Ken --- Lea Ann <[email protected]> wrote: > It's 5AM and we just got back from the ER. > > The doctor said his white cell counts on the CBC are > normal and he does not > have pneumonia but has infiltrates in his lungs but > that could be scarring > from when he had RSV at age 3 weeks.
