I've made a batch or two that stabilized at 79 uS and remained colorless. [and several more that didn't] It's a bit hard to say what color it *isn't* as it reflects room colors like mad, especially yellow from wood work. Since a meter only reads the ionic portion and the stronger you go, the greater the TE [suspended particles], the meter reading accuracy [comparing conductivity apples to PPM oranges] will slide off towards reading low.
..and no TE, a meter will likely read a little higher than actual PPM... 79 uS with a laser beam/TE you can stand on [ crystal clear in the shade, but like dilute skim milk in the sun] is 'probably' around 100 PPM...and good luck getting there in a repeatable manner. There is a chance but it's a "fat" one. :-) Ode At 10:11 AM 10/5/2005 -0600, you wrote: > >I have made several batches of higher than 30 ppm CS, and can attest to >how unpredictable and practically unrepeatable it gets.
