CS Listers:
I guess it's time for me to confess. My industrial-strength consumption of
Microdyn for 8 years has finally had an effect. I wrote some time ago about
my nails turning blue. This past spring, I got hit with a very bad virus
and OD'd on the Microdyn, drinking slugs of it several times a day (when
normally 8-10 drops will do).
After that siege, my nails turned very dark blue/gray, and the new growth
was disturbed, as if the buildup of silver in the cuticles was interfering
with the proper production of the new nail. It has not affected all nails,
only about half, and some of them worse than others. It's unslightly more
than anything else. I probably have enough CS stored up in my cuticles to
make me bullet-proof for the next six months.
When I was sure of what was happening, I stopped my daily consumption of CS,
and have been waiting for my nails to grow back out, so I could see how this
approach affected the gnarly nails I have grown. They seem to be clearing
some but not all. (I've been off it for two months now) But it will be
several more months before I'm sure this is a temporary condition.
Perhaps I should have disclosed this earlier, but I was waiting until I
completed my experiment before reporting the results. I just didn't want to
freak everybody out, particularly the newbies. In my prior "blue nail"
episode, a decline in consumption cleared them in several months.
I'll keep you posted.

The moons of my nails have been blue for quite some time. Apparently
silver
can be captured in growing tissues, especially since I have heard of CS
helping to darken hair as well. But that seems to be as far as it ever
goes.

I have made several batches of higher than 30 ppm CS, and can attest to
how unpredictable and practically unrepeatable it gets. I have one batch
that is so fainly colored as to be able to be called clear, has been
stable for over 2 years, etc, etc. It finished up on the PWT around 60
something, and in storage stabilized at 39uS. But I've neer been able to
duplicate that batch.
I keep thinking the moons of my nails, particularly the thumbnails are
turning blue, but I don't remember what they looked like before I
started making and drinking my CS in quantity, some 3 or more years ago.
Since they don't seem to be changing, I guess it isn't the start of
argyria......I do like to worry about it, when I have nothing better to
worry about, LOL. Ya gotta keep your worrier excercised.
