Dunno Mike. As a teacher of your daughter's age (a tiddy bitty younger) I
see loads of kids with these horrible irons on their teeth, and to my
opinion the teeth are not that badly placed. Mind you: whether insured or
not, these things cost an enormous lot of money, which goes to ortodontist's
pocket. How well is the man based in his vocation? I am a bit afraid of the
shining brilliance of dee dollar, know what I mean?
I (father of son + daughter, grandfather of shabby 4 year old boy) would
suggest to use your common sense: Have (yourself) a good look a daughteree's
teeth, and SEE for yourself (we are not dumb laymen about matters) if an
ortodontic intervention like that is worth while, looking at what your
daughter may have to go through for a long time. What is the gap like ..
does the girl suffer from it? Do food remnants remain there? In short: are
braces really necessary?
Hope to serve,
Faith
