On new computers, couldn't a similar device be attached to the keyboard PS2
port and/or USB ports without any difficulty? You would never know if the
unit was printed right on the motherboard. Most new motherboards have
integrated keyboard, ethernet, USB.

You cannot change a keyboard on a laptop. I won't work.
That is why they aren't doing it with Desktop computers. They already
figured that one out. (Grin)
