Heparin given as injection is l0,000 units per CC/ML. Heparin flush is l00 units. Insignificant. Susie ----- Original Message ----- From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Sent: Wednesday, October 26, 2005 11:42 PM Subject: Re: CS>Fw: CS>Vitamin C Therapy Re Le Ann
It is legal. I have been giving my husband IVs for 3 years now sometimes 4 a day. He has MRSA and osteomylitis. I got my equipment from a visiting nurse. Heparin is Dangerous and I just use a saline flush. If the needle coagulates I just throw it out and have a nurse put in a new "peripheral". Use new needless syringes EACH time and flush before and after. At least 1 full syringe before and after Harper In a message dated 10/26/2005 6:50:57 P.M. How do you learn how to put in the needle? etc. I was thinking about asking a friend of mine who is a paramedic and I have a sister-in-law who is a nurse but I'm afraid of the, "what kind of crazy idea is that?" from them because they are medical model people. Is it legal to give yourself (or a family member) an IV? Thanks in advance...
