Marshall,
Don't have it here, so no chance to try it on poison ivy. Here is what I've used it for: I actually had some on hand for another purpose, when one day I got splahed badly on the hand and forearm with hot oil from a frying pan. I put the essential lavender oil on it and the pain was gone in seconds. Before bed I applied it again, and in the morning not one mark, redness, or blister. Months later I picked up the lid off a roasting pan just out of a 400 degree oven, without a hot pad. Luckily it was only thumb and forefinger, with thumb burned the worst. Lavender oil stopped the pain in about 30 minutes. I applied it a few times that evening. Next day no redness, no blister, just a 'brand' where I touched the handle. The burn on the thumb pad was tender if touched for a few days, but that was it. It seemed to be a rather deep burn, as the brand took months to fade away completely. I also used lavender oil when a pet bit clear though my thumbnail at the base of the nail. Now, that was bad, and took about 45 min for the pain to stop completely. Following that I alternated applying lavender oil and soaking in EIS. Pain did not come back, and it never got any infection or redness, though my thumb did get surface brown stains from the combination of lav oil and EIS. Also have used it for other minor pinches and bites. The kind of bite or pinch that doesn't break skin but does hurt and usually leaves a blood blister, if I use lavender oil on it, not only does the pain go away but no blood blister or bruise develops. Probably due to the coumadin in lavender oil.

From our experience, essential lavender oil works for insect stings and
burns and bites of all kinds. Used neat on a burn or bite the pain
relief is nearly instantaneous.

How about poison ivy?
