My labs got cancer of the spleen when they were ten years old and whenever
the cancer would break open and bleed, they'd have very pale gums and
everywhere that you could tell which was supposed to be nicely pink. Then a
couple days later, the split would have sealed up and they'd have enough red
blood cells and be back to their natural coloring and feel well again. Your
cat is young though and I don't really know about anemia in cats. There is a
problem called feline infectious anemia which is curable.
