Hi Jill,
I am recently trying to overcome Pneumonia which I also had in the far east
in 1965. At the
time I was in a very small village and had to be rushed by
rickashaw,bluebird cab, and a
windowless C46 to a military hospital. While there they immediately put me
in a metal tub
and poured several buckets of ice on top of me. I felt nothing as my temp
had been climbing
from 104-105-106-107! Thank God the ice did the trick, and my temp started
dropping. They
sid had it stayed at 107 degrees or gone higher, I would have suffered
irreparable brain damage followed by death. I l was diagnosed as having
"double-pneumonia" while there.
                               Pete
