I go to the grocery store and ask for a specific item, give it's exact
location on the shelf it's on and a complete description of the box
including brand name, relative size and color.
Without fail, the clerk looks and looks, goes to a different shelf and
pulls out something that's not even close to what I asked for.
No... large and bright yellow, center bottom shelf, is not small and
orange on the top shelf even if it is the same brand of a different product.
Sorry. [Sorta makes being nice and not laugh out loud a conscious effort]
On the bright side; Sometimes the clerk will take my entire handful of
coupons and pay me twice over to buy the product, once they finally find it.

Several years ago there was a questionnaire of some sort for high school
students asking them to identify the two countries that border the United
States. An astounding number could not answer correctly.
I would have to search for the specific incident, if I can find it I'll
post it to the off-topic list.

Apparently my memory was quite good.
A retired school psychologist was kind enough to verify that the question
is one in the subtest on Information on the Wechlser Intelligence Scale
for Children, an individually administered IQ test which is widely used in
the US. The psychologist indicated that they had asked that question many
times and that it was amazing how many youngsters had no clue. There were
a lot of other general information questions they could not answer, also.
