MSM in an eye drop stings me like the very devil. It doesn't seem to
sting everyone, maybe I tried too much, but after one bad experience am
reluctant to experiment further. I do use DMSO in CS for eyedrops, but
keep the concentration low.
I like it better than adding traditiona buffering agents like baking
soda or salt, as I think it should make the CS more effective because of
the transport properties of DMSO. Seems to me like adding salt or baking
soda to buffer CS for eye lessens the effectiveness of the CS.
Corneal scratches can become infected extremely quickly particularly if
bacteria are introduced with the scratch. I once scratched my cornea
with a mascara brush, and within 18 hours could not see only shadows. I
worked for eye MDs at the time, so got treatment quickly. But it
terrified me as there are cases on record of pseudomonas a. corneal
infections destroying sight in 24 hours, to the point where a corneal
transplant is needed to restore vision.

Anyone have success using msm or dmso/cs for a scratched eye lens? My
wife scratched her eye by sleeping with her contact lenses in. It
seems in the course of the night one of them folded and scratched the
cornea. We already saw the eye doc and he prescribed
antibiotic/steroid drops but they haven't helped much. I've heard
about msm/dmso cs for eyes but haven't tried it for this condition
yet. Anyone?
