Another good reason to patch the eye in corneal injuries or keep the eye
closed as much as possible is that the cornea has no way to get oxygen
except by osmosis from the inner eyelid, so keeping the eye closed
increases oxygen to the cornea and helps it heal.
I like the misting with CS idea too.

Nothing will fix it right away, though! It's going to hurt until it

She should spend as much time "resting her eyes" as possible. When I
had an eye injury similar to that, it was the effort to keep one eye
open and the other closed that drove me crazy more than anything else.
