I haven't found any problems handling the cookware when heated. But like any
other pot of pan I've cooked with I always tend to use gloves. It's almost
impossible to cook something without heat transferance throughout. Hot pan,
semi hot handle? As for popularity? I think that is why they did away with
Glasswear. If you recall, the stuff was hurendously expensive back in the
they when they were promoting it. Now you can pick up a set here in Canada
for under 50 bucks (3 size cooking pots with lids, a small pan, 12inch pan
with lids) that's not a bad deal. Funny though, I only seem run into amber
coloured cookware.

Ernie -- I wouldn't assume that Corning would be the least bit interested
in
good health. Like most big companies, I would assume that Corning would be
MOST interested in profit. So I have to think that for some reason, the
Visionware wasn't selling as well as it needed to. Therefore I would be
wondering
what other drawbacks there are to this cookware -- is it difficult to
handle?
was it's popularity just a fad? We just bought a second-hand set of sauce
pans. I'm looking forward to trying them out. I don't think there is
probably
much difference between microscopic uncleanliness between glass and
stainless
steel, so I'm not concerned about that. But my old set of stainless is
just
about worn out -- and it seems like teflon-coated cookware is almost all
that is
available. MA
