I have the updated version of Trudeau's "Natural Cures "They" Don't Want You To Know About." I'm almost finished with it.
He covers the field pretty completely, and there were some things I hadn't heard about after 9 years of interest in alternative medicine. It is nice to have it all collected into one place... or would be if he presented it better. He claims to be unable to name a single product or service by brand name because of FDA and FTC interference, so every suggestion he has depends on him describing the item thoroughly enough for you to find it with Google... *OR* you can join his web site and send a private e-mail to his team of licensed physicians who allegedly can mention brand names when answering your questions. So his entire presentation consists of "I believe...", "In my opinion...", "I've seen...", and endless and repetitive argument by assertion, with almost no literature citations, web sites, detailed case histories, or other specific information or useful data. You could jot down a quick outline of Chapter 6, spend a few days with Google, and have about everything specific there is to be gotten out of his entire presentation. The rest is there just to convince you what we all know, that the pharmaceutical, medical, scientific, and regulatory regimes are screwed up. It was frustrating as hell for me to read, turning page after page, watching him repeat himself endlessly and waiting for him to say anything *new* that he hadn't already said fifty times. I really hate to be so negative about it because he does a great job getting informtion out on TV and I know most of what he's saying in his book is true, but I can't see how anybody who isn't already convinced is going to be influenced by a thing he says, and then why do we need to read it all again? If your thoughts differ, please share. I'm all for any argument that would bolster my opinion of the man. Be well, Mike D.
