Dear Heather,

My Mother had one of the worst cases of psoriasis on record. She would
have lesions covering a large fraction of her entire body at any given
time. She was always miserable with the itching and flaking and
embarassed to go anywhere. She was mentally unbalanced in a number of
ways. The psoriasis contributed a lot to her problems.

All the conventional treatments did nothing that lasted. The most we
ever found to do for her was baby oil to keep the leasions from getting
too crusty. It helped with the itching a little bit. <sigh>

We had one member some years back who tried CS for his psoriasis. He
reported some initial improvement but we never heard back from him
after the first couple of weeks, if I remember correctly, so we don't
know if there was any long term results. If it had continued to improve
I expect we'd have heard from him.

If I were addressing psoriasis today, CS would certainly be one thing
to try, but I suspect that you'd want to look into a lot of other
things as well.

In addition to oral intake, it would probably be worth experimenting
with CS on gause pads, kept moist for lengthy periods of time, possibly
with DMSO added, on the off chance there's a pathogen associated with
the disease that can be gotten at through the skin.

My gut tells me that it's a systemic thing that's more likely to
respond to systemic measures, such as Gerson Therapy or other
modalities that focus on nutrition, environmental toxicity, and
cleansing the body of toxins. References to Gerson Therapy mention
psoriasis as one of the many conditions that have responded.

Google search on 'psoriasis max gerson'.

There are references to vitamin C, lecithin, dietary oils, various
other vitamins and minerals in relation to psoriatic skin conditions,
so it might be addressable as a deficiency disease, with
supplementation, juicing, and a fresh, raw, organic diet.

A couple of pages on the doctoryourself.com website talk about this.

Another area to look into will be immune reactivity to mercury or other
toxic heavy metals found in industry, food, household products, and
dental materials, among other sources. Consider having mercury fillings
and other inappropriate materials properly removed and replaced at a
properly equipped and experienced clinic.

Learn about dental revision from Dr. Hal Huggins, at drhuggins.com.

I'm sure there are tons of other things to consider. I often wonder if
I could have helped my mom if I knew then some of what I know now.

Let us know if you learn anything more. I would love to hear a report
on anything your husband's coworker tries.

Be well,

Mike D.
