Did you have any traces of hydrogen peroxide in there when you ran it?
That will make big shiny metal flakes grow.
Most distilled water is treated with ozone to sterilize it and ozone
de-gasses pretty fast...some could be treated with peroxide.
It could also be a touch of metallic silver that sometimes gets caught in
the surface tension of the water and transfers from surfaces to other
surfaces....pretty normal and looks a lot worse than it is
That would be at the very top.
