I'd add that the yellow coating is silver that has plated out during processing or shortly after. This is just wasted silver. You might want to stop the process much sooner, or get better DW. Soap residue might be encouraging the formation of the plating too. Soap and detergent residue is extremely difficult to rinse out, no matter how many times you rinse.

Dilute hydrogen peroxide will take that coating off instantly, Ian. Then all you'd need to do is rinse thoroughly. No scrubbing required and should take you less than 10 minutes.
