I just tossed out a big container of rice in which I found a bug, don't
think it was the moth under discussion though, here we tend to get weevils.
Putting DE in the grains is a good idea, but doesn't actually remove the
bugs or their eggs or larvae from the grain, flour, or rice. You'd still
be eating dead bugs, right?
Bugs in grains are just a fact of life. Some years and from certain
stores or producers, they are more frequently found. Usually, if I see
weevils in flour from a particular store, I don't buy from them again.
I'm not sure if this is a problem with the particular brands a store may
sell, or with the shipping and storage practices of certain stores.
But, I'm more grossed by bugs in my old age than I was in my youth. In
my 20's if I found weevils in flour, I just sifted them out. Now I will
toss 20 lbs of flour if I find weevils in it. Plus I will often toss my
storage container, too.

You could try mixing in a little food grade diatomaceous earth with
your grains. It kills all bugs, and is good for human consumption as
a mineral supplement. No side effects, non-toxic, 100% effective.
Good for humans; bad for bugs.
