You actually choose the alkalinity from about 8 to about 12, and the device puts out an alkaline flow in one tube and an acid flow in the other. Therefore for the acid side, you get what you get, that is as you increase the alkalinity from 8 to 12, the acid will increase from about 6 down to probably 2 or 3, although this probably depends a great deal on the initial water's composition and pH.
