Evening V,
>>That way you could use all your time and energy doing experiments
instead of building power supplies.

That supply is virtually designed to do all the things he wants to
do. I read the complete PDF. Seems there are 3 models.
I would get the highest voltage model but others may want the ]
50 VDC limit.
Anyone could use nothing but that supply to make CS. Or..... they
could power other boards with the special features they want.
The prices is amazing also. I have paid nearly that amount for a
digital meter alone to mount in a panel.
Years back, that unit would have cost several times the price today.
I would not even want to collect all the parts for the amount of the unit.
However, I feel that at one point in your life, you rather build
something than to buy it. I have been there and spent hours and
lots of money to that goal.
I still have two great boards I purchased when learning to program
RS-485 communications. Those boards cost $ 175.00 each.
I added some switch brackets, LED's and relay boards to each of the
communication modules, which is all they really were.
I had about 3 weeks fun with those boards, including mastering the
communication code.
They could be used to control heaters, fans, pumps, ........ you name
it. They are still on the work bench after about 16 years.
The point is, if we never did things the hard way, we could not
appreciate the easy way. The learning is likely worth every penny
of the cost.
I have another power supply I built, a true switching regulated
supply with huge heat sinks and fans.
The output is 12 VDC and 100 AMPS. Next I built a load to test
it to make sure the design was sound.
I wish I had the cost of the parts back for that project.
Peter may be one of the rare breed that rather build something as to buy it.
But, that supply you suggested is a steal at the price.
