Cheryl, I used to use coffee filters too, but don't need them now I use a bubbler. I read on this group about the problem with using coffee filters, though I'm blowed if I can remember what the main problem is, now. And I think the knowledgeable ones here feel that if it goes yellow it's kind of overloaded. Rowena
Are you straining it? It should be clear to a yellow or golden color. I use ordinary coffee filters doubled to strain mine through. You should also be using the purest silver rods you can get.
