Subject: CS>Poison Ivy Juice
We need advice on how to neutralize poison ivy juice! Is there anything
we can do?? My son was cutting wood with a chain saw and then realized
there were furry vines on the trees, and pulled them off. He apparently
got poison ivy (or poison oak) juice sprayed all over his arm while
cutting. Now, a week and two days later, his arms which were almost solid
swollen patches of poison ivy are better, but then last night his leg
broke out in dozens of spots. It's on his tummy too...he figures he must
have scratched while wearing the gloves. He's washed the jeans 3
times...then wore them yesterday. He doesn't know what to do about the
boots and the mallet handle and chain saw. I threw the gloves away.>
Pat,
For human healing, Rhus Tox is commonly taken. It's a homeopathic remedy of
poison ivy. Potency choice is generally 9C or 12C, though sometimes people
take 30C.
I'd wash the tools in good strong soap, taking a spray bottle so I don't
have to touch anything. I use KD Gold; see http://www.kdgold.com/ It
works great for clothing too.
You can also spray the stuff on your skin to dry out the P.I. It works.
Best wishes,
Nenah
