Simple methods: The original settlers in Australia, and some of the old timers still, use water to cool by running cold water over wrists and forearms, plunging feet into cold water, etc. Cold damp towels round neck, forehead or other convenient spots can help. A modern slant on this is having strips of fabric made into "ribbons", "Belts" or "ties" - just long thin rectangular shapes stitched together, or shorter wider ones, containing gel which absorbs water like the stuff used to put in plant pots to keep a reservoir of water for the roots. This is soaked in water, and the damp tie put around the forehead and head, neck, or anywhere else where it would help.
Re Tony's no-antiperspirant suggestion - I am using coconut milk instead of dairy, and was getting fed up of the perpetual coconut smell I exuded, even under the arms. I stopped the coconut for a while, and went back on the dairy. The underarm smell was suddenly so shockingly familiar I very quickly went back to the coconut. I don't know that it helps cool any - maybe it does, but it helps the BO! R While we are on the subject of heat. Winter does not really bother me at all. I don't love it but it doesn't bother me like summer does. I dread summer like others dread winter. -- The Silver List is a moderated forum for discussing Colloidal Silver.
