Znaci, do sada smo bili predstavnici Kanade 2000, 2001 i 2002 godine. (U sportu bi se to zvalo 'Team Canada').

Jos uvek predstoji nasa turneja i koncert u San Antonio, TX, March 1, 2, 3 i 4/2002. godine. Svakako da cemo osvetliti obraz Kanadi, i dostojno predstaviti kulturnu i umetnicku bastinu naseg naroda Amerima i ostalim ucesnicima i posetiocima Festivala u Texasu.

Srdacan pozdrav,

Drago

During the past decade it seemed all the gods of the new world order were angry with the Serbian nation. In the end, with no mercy they sent dark clouds from the west, raining thunder, lightning and fire from the heavens above for seventy-eight days over SERBIA and her freedom-loving people. With this fury, they ultimately tore out the cradle of the Serbian culture and civilization, KOSOVO, from the heart of Kosovo’s children, from the Serbs. And all the children wept.

But every cloud has a silver lining. In the midst of the darkness which affected Serbian children everywhere, the OPLENAC youth received a very special gift - the arrival from Serbia of their new Artistic Director and Chief Choreographer, Mr. Miroslav Bata MARCETIC. With blessings from above, mixed together with a touch of  Serbian “inat”, Bata’s vast knowledge, and the hard work of the children, teachers and parents, OPLENAC quickly grew in strength. Now the people involved in the cultural life of OPLENAC numbers close to 300 dancers and performers plus support volunteers.

However, numbers may not be as important as the recognition of  OPLENAC’s efforts and achievements by competent folklore authorities in Canada and abroad. Today, OPLENAC has 9 dance ensembles, an orchestra and choir, and a school of choreography, as well as Radio Oplenac (which is temporarily off the air). Against all odds, OPLENAC is what it is today because someone from above smiled down on these young people and observed that what the OPLENAC youth was doing and achieving was good.
Here are a few of the most recent OPLENAC achievements:

-    Designated Canada Representatives to the International Folk Dance Competitions for the year 2001
-    KIWANIS 2001 - recipients of the First Place Award (overall)
